Bandyopadhyay, who held a high level meeting with two state ministers elected from Burdwan district Swapan Debnath and Siddiqulla Chowdhury at the circuit house here, said the government was fully prepared to cope with any situation.
The miister said as per Green Tribunal diktat, no sand lifting will be alllowed from river beds now and asked the concerned District Magistrates to monitor the same.
On flood prevention steps, he said both short term steps to prevent inundation as well as long term steps for building concrete embankments had been initiated and continuing in districts.
The bridge will be built by state PWD.
