'Shahid' is a real-life story of Mumbai-based lawyer Shahid Azmi, who was murdered in his office in suburban Kurla in February 2010 at the age of 32.
"While I was making Shahid -- a man who stood by his principles and was ready to die for them -- I realised that the power to change anything lies within us. We as human beings should stand up for the right all the time. We need people like Shahid in our society who are true guardian angels for others," Mehta said.
"I will be very happy if some of the kids from this school want to be a lawyer like Shahid," Mehta said.
The film, set to hit the theatres on October 18, stars Rajkumar in the lead role.
