Will back anyone who fights against corruption: V K Singh

"I am associated with anyone capable of standing against corruption and keen to bring about a change in society," Singh said here yesterday, when asked about his association with the anti-corruption movements of Hazare and Kejriwal.

He said both Hazare and Kejriwal were pursuing the same objective through different means.

"They may have chosen different paths but they are working towards the common goal of eliminating corruption," the former Army chief said.

Singh, who supported Hazare's anti-graft campaign after his retirement this year, said a significant beginning has been made by the Gandhian towards fighting corruption, and it will have far-reaching consequences for the country.

Opposing FDI in multi-brand retail, he said the government's decision was taken in a haste.

"I feel the decision has been taken in utter haste. We have a successful model of cooperatives in Amul which should have been followed instead of bringing in FDI in retail," he said.

Singh said he is currently writing a book on his experiences in the Army, which is likely to be released in September next year.
