'Wolverine 3' gets 'Blade Runner 2' writer

The third "Wolverine" movie, which will become actor Hugh Jackman's last appearance in the "X-Men" franchise, will be penned by Michael Green.
Green, 68, has been hired to write a screenplay for the upcoming superhero movie which is expected to mark Jackman's last performance as the clawed mutant, reported Ace Showbiz.
Green is one of the four writers of 2011's "Green Lantern" movie starring Ryan Reynolds. He also co-wrote a long-delayed sequel to Ridley Scott's "Blade Runner" and helped polish Jack Paglen's script for Scott's "Prometheus 2".
James Mangold is confirmed to return as a director for the third "Wolverine" movie.
"The Wolverine 3" will be released stateside on March 3, 2017. It is expected to go into production early next year.
Meanwhile, Fox is preparing for "X-Men: Apocalypse" with director Bryan Singer. It is due May 27, 2016.
