Woman arrested with boyfriend who molested her daughter

A minor girl was allegedly being molested by her mother's boyfriend for the past two years in central Delhi's Kamla Nagar area, police said today.
According to the police, the mother was aware of the happenings, but instead of helping her 15-year-old daughter, she used threaten her.
Following a complaint by the victim, her mother and the 40-year-old man Jagdish Chand have been arrested.
The girl lived with her mother and father at Minto Road. Her father is employed at a government school. Their neighbour Chand was involved in an illicit relationship with her mother and would often visit their house, police said quoting the victim.

However, after a few months, he began touching the girl inappropriately, sometimes also in the mother's presence, even though the girl resisted and cried, police said.
When complained to, the mother would threaten the girl that the man would kill her if she revealed the matter to anybody.
The girl gathered courage and informed some of her relatives. "She approached Kamla Nagar police station with her aunt on Friday night and alleged that she was being molested by her mother's boyfriend for the past two years. We registered a case and arrested the man and woman post-midnight," a police officer said.

The victim is currently staying with her aunt. Whether the father was aware of the alleged crime is yet to be verified, police said.
