The woman identified as Varalakshmi from Karur district jumped into the sea last night, they said.
A group of fishermen, who saw her jumping, informed the Mandapam Marine police who started a search for the body and found it this morning, they said.
The woman's identity was established with the help of an ID card found in a bag in her possession, they said.
Marine police have registered a case in this connection.
