Woman commits suicide, father alleges murder for dowry

A 22-year-old woman allegedly committed suicide today at her in-laws' house in Kaila Bhatta area here, police said.
The deceased, identified as Nargis, was found hanging from the ceiling fan at her in-laws' house today, police said.
However, the victim's father, Nizamuddin, has alleged that his daughter, who got married to Irfan last year was killed by her in-laws who used to harass her for dowry, Superintendent of Police Ajay Pal Sharma said.
Upon getting the information from neighbours, her father reached here from Dankaur Town of Gautam Budh Nagar, the SP said.
According to the preliminary investigation it was a case of suicide, Sharma said adding, however an FIR has been lodged on complaints by the deceased's father and the matter is being probed.

Meanwhile, Irfan and his family members are at large and efforts were being made to nab them, police said.
