The accident took place yesterday at Ghodbunder road here when the autorickshaw was hit by a speeding truck from the rear following which the vehicle rammed into another truck ahead of it which sped away. The auto due to the impact of the collision subsequently dashed with a truck parked in the mid of the road, Sr PI V S Suryavanshi of Kasarwadavali police station told PTI.
The two other truck drivers fled the scene after the mishap and searches have been launched for them.
While the woman died on the spot, her husband and the auto driver Yogendra Pratap Singh (39) were seriously injured.
Offences have ben registered under sections 304 (a); 337, 338 of the IPC and also MV Act sections 184, 119/177 and 134(a) and (b) against the drivers of the three trucks, police added.
