A woman who was on hunger strike
demanding action against her relative against whom she had lodged a rape case last year, was forcibly evicted from the office of sub-divisional officer in Sanchor town and admitted to a hospital in Sanchor in Jalore district of Rajasthan yesterday.
The married woman, aged around 25 years, was on strike in front of the office of sub-divisional officer in Sanchor town for the last five-six days demanding action against the accused Vasudev.
When she did not call off the strike, she was forcibly taken to a hospital by a team of police, which included one woman constable.
"It was for saving her life. This act was not intentional. Since her condition was deteriorating, she was needed to be hospitalised. When she refused to go despite repeated requests, policemen, including a woman constable, took her to the hospital," SP Jalore Satyendra Kumar said today.
He said that the rape case she lodged against her relative was being probed by the investigating officer and she was assured of impartial probe and was asked to wait for the outcome of the investigation but she sat on the hunger strike, he said.
The woman is admitted at the hospital in Sanchor.
