A woman, who had accused former Akali minister Sucha Singh Langah of rape, today retracted from her earlier statement, an official said.
In the court of Additional District and Sessions Judge Prem Kumar here, the complainant also denied being in the purported video clip which went viral on social media purportedly showing Langah in a compromising position.
Speaking to mediapersons here, government counsel Kiran Bains said the complainant retracted from her earlier statement pertaining to rape charges in the court.
The next date of hearing has been fixed for March 12.
Langah was booked by police on the night of September 28 last year after the woman gave a complaint that the Akali leader had allegedly been raping her repeatedly since 2009.
Police had booked Langah under Sections 376 (rape), 384 (extortion), 420 (cheating) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.
The victim had also given a video clip in a pen drive to the police to back her accusations.
