The woman SI posted at the Ballygunge police station filed a complaint with the senior authorities, accusing the officer-in-charge, Ujjal Mukherjee, of making sexual advances and molesting her on Thursday night after calling her to his room, police sources said.
The woman SI filed a complaint with the deputy commissioner's office following which a high level inquiry under the supervision of a DC was instituted.
Mukherjee went on leave on Friday, the sources said.
This is the second such incident in the last one month after a woman police official was allegedly molested by a colleague.
