According to the postmortem report, the two women had died of execution, a police official said.
However, whether it was a case of suicide or murder will become clear only when the investigation progresses further, they said.
Relatives of the two women have still not lodged a police complaint in this connection, they said.
The victims, Anita Singh (20) and Sunita Singh (21), said to be close friends, went missing on Sunday, after they had gone to the forest to collect fodder.
