"The work is in full swing and likely to be completed by the end of this month," said Additional Divisional Railway Manager, Khurda Road Division, S K Choudhury.
The Nabakalebara festival would be held next month.
Once completed, the project would increase line capacity of Khurda Road-Puri section and facilitate running of more trains to meet the influx of tourists and pilgrims during Nabakalebara, he said.
Choudhury, along with the Senior Divisional Commercial Manager H L Luwnga, was here to review different railway projects in Berhampur and its adjoining stations.
The 44-km long railway project was approved in 2000-01 with an estimated cost of Rs 165.16 crore and the 15-km long Khurda Road-Delang line in the project had already commenced, Railway officials said.
