Vij who also represents the Ambala Cantonment Assembly constituency, said that the ring road would connect Ambala-Jagadhari, Ambala-Delhi, Ambala-Chandigarh, Ambala-Naraingarh and Ambala-Hisar roads outside the city limits.
A revised map has been prepared with the provision of a road from Shahpur Manchhoda via Brahman Majra instead of via Khuda Kalan.
The construction work on the 15-km stretch of the ring road from village Saddopur on Chandigarh road to Hisar road would be carried out by the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI).
Similarly, the Public Works (Buildings and Roads) Department would carry out construction of the remaining 19-km stretch.
With construction of the ring road heavy vehicles would no longer be required to pass through Ambala Sadar and Ambala City areas, and the vehicles entering Ambala would be get hindrance-free route, he added.
