Youth booked for circulating morphed pics of ex-lover

A youth was today booked for allegedly circulating morphed photographs of his ex-girlfriend on social media and labelling her as an informer of security forces in Kashmir's Baramulla district, police said.
"We have taken cognisance of the matter and registered an FIR in the case. The culprit behind the circulation of the photographs has been identified," a senior police official said.
Several pictures of the girl clad in western clothes were doing rounds on the social media as the person who had posted these images sought to defame her by "labelling her as informer of security forces", he said.
"Some of the pictures are morphed while others are of intimate nature which the girl might have shared with the youth while she was in a relationship with him," the official said.

He said the photographs in which the girl is holding an alcohol bottle and pistol have been found to be morphed.
"It seems the youth was trying to settle scores with the girl after their break up by posting these morphed pictures on social media apps and websites," the official added.
