Youth centres to be set up in Hry in RSS icon Upadhyay's name

As part of its celebrations of the birth centenary of RSS ideologue Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay, the Haryana government has decided that youth centres would be established in his name in all districts of the state at a cost of about Rs three crore each.
These 'Yuva Vikas Kendras' would offer facilities such as library, Wi-Fi and skill development centres for the physical and cognitive development of the youth, the state Education Minister Ram Bilas Sharma said.
He was presiding over the first meeting of a working committee constituted for organising Upadhyay's birth centenary celebrations, here today.
A proposal was also passed in the meeting to install a 51-feet statue of Upadhyay, equalling 51 years of his life, to serve as a source of inspiration for the people.
The minister said that a book based on Upadhyay's life containing details of his social works would also be published.
A state-level 'Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay Soochna Bhavan' would also be established in Panchkula, whereas the Soochna Kendras being established by the Information, Public Relations and Languages Department in each district would be named after Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya, he said.
The minister said that as the life of Upadhyay serves as an example for the youth, research related to his philospohy of 'integral humanism' would be conducted in the Kurukshetra University.
Apart from this, a national-level seminar on his life would be organised at the Maharshi Dayanand University, Rohtak and lectures on 14 different subjects related to his ideas would be delivered in 14 universities of the state.
"As the birthday of Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyay is celebrated on September 25, 'Pandit Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Kavi Sammelan' would be organised in Mahendragarh, Rewari, Gurugram, Faridabad and the remaining parts of south Haryana till September 25, 2017," he said, according to an official release.
Various other proposals, such as development of six parks in his name, exhibition of images and documentary related to his life, were also approved in the meeting.
