Zinc prices fell by 0.47% to 149.45 per kg in futures trade today after speculators trimmed positions, tracking a weak global trend.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in the current month declined by 70 paise, or 0.47%, to Rs 149.45 per kg in business turnover of 354 lots.

Likewise, the metal for delivery in June softened by 65 paise, or 0.43%, to Rs 150 per kg in four lots.

Analysts said the weakness in zinc at futures trade was mostly attributed to a weak trend in the base metals pack at the London Metal Exchange.
