Zinc futures rose 0.4% to Rs 100.15 per kg as participants built up positions amid a rising domestic demand.

At the Multi Commodity Exchange, zinc for delivery in the current month was up by 40 paise, or 0.4%, to Rs 100.15 per kg in 112 lots.

The metal for delivery in January also rose 30 paise, or 0.3%, to Rs 101 per kg, with a business turnover of three lots.

Market analysts said a firming trend at the domestic spot market on pick up in demand, drove the upside in zinc prices.
