The Saha facility, to come up on 10 acres of land provided free of cost by the government of Haryana, will cost Rs 100 crore. The Rohtak facility, which will come up on a 19.8 acre plot that has also been provided free of cost by the state government, will cost Rs 125 crore.
The two centres are expected to help the 3,500-plus MSMEs in Ambala district (manufacturing scientific instruments, glassware, electrical appliances and steel) and the over 4,500 units in Rohtak (manufacturing auto components, general engineering items and fasteners) in developing world-class dies, tools, moulds, jigs and fixtures, testing facilities and trained technical manpower.
The MSME ministry recently launched the Technology Centre Systems Programme to provide technological support to MSMEs, and thereby make them globally competitive.
