12.69% Gilt Traded For Rs 60 Crore

The wholesale debt market (WDM) at the National Stock Exchange clocked a trading volume of Rs 367.38 crore out of which the treasury bill segment contributed to a volume of Rs 26 crore.

"The day saw volatile price movement. Despite this, there was buying interest among traders," said a dealer. A deal was done for the certificate of deposit of State Bank of India, maturing on July 1, 1998, for Rs five crore at the yield 10.50 per cent and priced at Rs 99.05.

The bonds of Reliance Industries was traded for Rs five crore at the yield of 13.54 per cent and at the price of Rs 53.25.

The 12.69 per cent government loan, maturing in 2002, saw 11 trades and volume of Rs 60 crore. The paper was traded at the weighted average yield of 11.57 per cent, and at the low of Rs 103.25, a high of Rs 103.40 before closing at Rs 103.35. The floating rate bonds, maturing in 1999, was traded for Rs 50 crore at the weighted average yield 11.15 per cent. The paper was traded for a low of Rs 102.10 and high of Rs 102.20. The 11.50 per cent government loan, maturing in 2004, was traded for Rs 25 crore at the weighted average yield of 11.78 per cent.
