The wholesale debt market (WDM) of the National Stock Exchange clocked a trading volume of Rs 298.70 crore.
Sentiment in the securities market continues to be bearish, and prices are headed southwards.

Yesterday, the action was concentrated around the 13.55 per cent 2001 paper which was dealt for Rs 85 crore at a weighted average yield of 11.63 per cent.
At the shorter end, the 13.65 per cent 1999 was dealt for Rs 20 crore at a weighted average yield of 10.22 per cent. At the far end, the 12 per cent 2008 was dealt at a discount of 10 paise i.e. at a yield of 12.0020 per cent.
Among treasury bills, the 14 day treasury bill maturing on June 20, 1998, was traded for Rs 6.50 crore at a weighted yield of 6 per cent.
The total volume of debentures traded yesterday was Rs 447.69 lakh with the action being concentrated on the 0 per cent Reliance Capital, 0 per cent Reliance Capital 2002 and 16 per cent MRPL 2002.The 0 per cent Reliance Capital and the 0 per cent Reliance Capital 2002 were traded for Rs 371.55 lakh and Rs 52.7363 lakh respectively, and at an indicative yield of 15.75 per cent and 15.19 per cent respectively.
The 16 per cent MRPL 2002 was dealt for a sum of Rs 18.7246 lakh at an indicative yield of 16.19 per cent.
