Cotton Textile Exports In October Shrink

Cotton textile exports during the month of October, in value terms stood at Rs 860.34 crore.

This was against the Rs 951.53 crore in the corresponding month of the previous year.

Exports this October comprised cotton fabrics Rs 233.40 crore, cotton yarn Rs 431.29 crore, sewing thread Rs 30 lakh and cotton made-ups Rs 195.34 crore.

The overall export performance during January-October improved 17.6 per cent at Rs10,730.70 crore.

This was in comparison with the Rs 9,128.69 crore recorded during January-October of the previous year.

The average price realisation with respect to cotton fabrics was Rs 22.23 per square metre during January-October.

The average price of cotton yarn decreased to Rs 116.77 per kg from Rs 119.03.

In dollar terms, exports improved to $2,049.37 million during April-October.

This was against the $1,869.34 million recorded during the corresponding period of the previous year.
