Groundnut oil sharply fell by Rs 10 to Rs 361 per 10 kg on reduced demand and brisk arrivals. Market sources said widespread rains in Gujarat and Andhra lifted supplies to around 80 tonnes per day.

In other oils, sesame and copra oil white declined by Rs 5 per 10 kg each to Rs 325 and Rs 545 per 10 kg respectively on reduced offtake.

Linseed oil firmed up by Rs 5 to Rs 315 per 10 kg on improved offtake and reduced inflow.

Karanji oil eased by Rs 4 to Rs 201 per 10 kg on improved demand. Rapeseed oil refined eased by Rs 2 to Rs 290 per 10 kg on low demand. Sunflower oil expeller eased by Rs 2 to Rs 277 per 10 kg yesterday.

Imported palmolein was overall steady on narrow movements at the previous Rs 264 level. Majority of other oils ruled overall steady on narrow movements.

In futures, December contract opened 50 paise up at Rs 1088 and moved up to Rs 1090 a quintal. It declined to Rs 1082.50 before closing at Rs 1084.50.
