Iffco chairman D P Yadav said this would help produce additional 7.26 lakh tpa of urea. He was speaking at the 23rd annual general meeting of the cooperative fertiliser giant.
He said expansion work undertaken at Phulpur and Kalol units was on schedule. The Kandla expansion project was, however, still awaiting formal official clearance.
Yadav said Iffco produced 29 lakh tonnes of fertiliser material, achieving a capacity utilisation of 117 per cent in nitrogenous and phosphatic fertilisers in 1995-96.
Iffco's plants registered the highest urea output of 19.18 lakh tonnes with a capacity utilisation of 119 per cent, against 18.95 lakh tonnes in the previous year.
Iffco's share in the country's total production of nitrogenous and phosphatic fertilisers worked out at 11.5 and 14 per cent, respectively.
He said the company was implementing a comprehensive medium term plan, `Vision-2000', which envisaged expansion of existing units, setting up of units inside and outside the country and increasing the acreage under seed production. Its main aim was to attain a global status in the fertiliser sector.
