, CEO and managing director, KPIT Cummins, has several handsets and a soft corner for his BlackBerry 8700G.

He is now eyeing the Apple iPhone. Not satisfied with iPhone's strategy of locking itself in with an operator, Patil would like to make iPhones with 3G capabilities and add multiple SIM card slots to the device.

What are your favourite gadgets, without which you can't survive?

The BlackBerry 8700G is my current favourite, because the keyboard is so spacious, posing no problems in firing off quick e-mails and text messages.

If you could build it, what would your dream gadget be?

A more global version of the iPhone. There are certain factors that need to be addressed, like 3G service support, multiple SIM cards, dictation for notes, laser pointer, laser-projected hologram keyboard, voice translation and document layout management.

If you were a gadget, what would you be?

I would love to be an iPhone. It is an excellent balance between usability and sleek looks. Perhaps it will also emerge as an electronic pet.

Which one of your gadgets was a complete waste of money?

When I bought the Nokia E61, I was looking forward to using its BlackBerry service. I was very disappointed while syncing calendar entries and contact details as I just ended up with duplicate entries.

Name one wacky gadget that you had fun experimenting with.

Sony's PlayStation, which for me is the world's most sophisticated gaming console. The PS3 is a gadget I like to tinker with "" when I am able to steal it away from my children.

If you could, whose computer would you hack?

Any prominent global political leader's computer would be fine. I, however, doubt that they make use of computers...

Can you unwind with the help of your gadgets?

I can, with my gaming console. I also watch DVDs while travelling. My iPod I use very effectively to ignore incoming calls whenever possible.
