Bangalore-based Infosys Technologies Limited, the country’s second-largest software services exporter, is focused on the future and is looking at fully leveraging the strengths of Andhra Pradesh, according to its managing director S Gopalakrishnan.
“There is no rethinking. Our first campus, spread over 50 acre, is completely full. The Phase-I of the 400-acre campus, which can accommodate 5,000 professional, will be ready for occupation in the next couple of months,” he told mediapersons here on Thursday.
He was replying to a query on whether the company was rethinking about its expansion plans in Andhra Pradesh in the wake of the recent political disturbance over the demand for a separate Telangana state.
Gopalakrishnan said the company always planned to invest ahead, which will automatically create the expected growth. “We are always in the mode of looking out for more space. Our Pune campus too is full and now we are looking at a third campus there,” he said.
On the European debt crisis, he said though it was a cause for concern, he was hopeful that things would improve and that it would not precipitate the situation.
“We are encouraging our member companies to look at developing countries like the West Asia, Latin America, India and China so that business is uniform across the world,” Gopalakrishnan said.
Stating that the company had earlier derived revenues of 40 per cent each from the US and Europe and 20 per cent from the rest of the world, he said the ratio was now 62:25:13.
