Intuit sets up dev centre

Intuit incorporation, a US-based provider of business and financial management solutions to small and mid-sized businesses, has decided to open a product development centre in Bangalore.

This is their first development outside the US and the company is seeking software professionals to staff their 21,000 sqft facility.

"India has a world class talent pool and we will draw upon India's rich experience in quality processes as we expand our services," said Nilesh Thakkar, country manager, Intuit. The company will be making products here for their US market.

Intuit's flagships product includes Quickbooks, TurboTax (accounting softwares) and has a large market in US, Canada and UK. The company clocked net earnings of $478 million last year.

The company has a staff strength of 7,000 at the 13 centres located at US and serves about 25 million customers, 5 million of which are mid-size businesses.
