MatrixOne, a provider of collaborative product lifecycle management (PLM) solutions that is based out of Westford in US, has signed a reseller agreement with the Bangalore-based D'Gipro Design Automation Marketing.

According to the agreement, both the companies will focus on providing semiconductor design management solutions and services for both the global firms operating in India as well as the local Indian companies.

Addressing media here recently, Patricia Megowan, MatrixOne's vice president, global electronics business unit said that D'Gipro had over 15 years of expertise in implementing diverse electronic design automation (EDA) tools for its customers in India.

"By formalising our partnership with D'Gipro, we are expanding our reach and increasing our ability to bring customers the global best practices in semiconductor design data management sector," she added.

Added Andy Kalambi, vice-president and managing director, MatrixOne Asia, "India has emerged as the largest offshore semiconductor design hub outside the United States. Our presence in India through D'Gipro will strengthen our commitment to supporting our global customers who have their design centres in India as well as the Indian companies."

To a query, Kalambi said that the company had seen a lot of growth in the automotive sector in India. MatrixOne, which had a turnover of $124 million last fiscal, had leading companies like P&G, Nokia, Honda, GE and Toshiba among others using its PLM solutions.
