Standard Chartered Bank, Bennett Coleman and Company and JM Morgan Stanley emerged as the top three among the 35 teams that took part in the Microsoft Corporate Challenge 2006 (MCC) held here.

The challenge tested each team in five stages including running, cycling, light engineering and mental activities like cracking codes, trekking through the wild and rowing across the backwaters.

The two-day event was held on the FACT campus near Kochi and the adjoining backwaters.

"We received an overwhelming response this year from companies. Having successfully organised an event of this magnitude, which involved months of logistics planning, we are confident of holding the next year's challenge abroad," said Venkat Vardhan, managing director, DNA Networks.

Firms like ICICI Bank, Barclays Bank, Indian Navy, Indiatimes, Pepsi Foods, RMZ, Infosys, Microsoft, GE Money, Thomson International, Unilever, Ashok Leyland, Motorola, JWT, Hutch, Reliance Capital, Worldspace, Grey Worldwide and McDowells also participated in the event.
