US firm to deploy IBS' software

IBS, the Thiruvananthapuram-based IT solutions provider to the travel, transportation and logistics industries, has announced that its Tour Partner software has been picked by the US-based Vail Resorts Inc as a key component in their plan to integrate and upgrade its reservations systems. Vail Resorts operates five major ski areas across USA.

An IBS source said in Thiruvananthapuram that the architecture of the enterprise solution involves real-time integration between Tour Partner and a number of key inventory, financial and customer systems.

Currently, half a dozen systems are used to accommodate the diverse types of products sold by Vail Resorts, raging from lift tickets to air inclusive vacation packages.

Speaking on the new deal, V K Mathews, chairman and managing director, IBS Group, said, "Vail Resort Inc's selection of IBS' Tour Partner product, for managing their central reservations and booking process indicates the confidence that customers have in our ability to provide state-of-the-art IT solutions to the travel and transportation industries."

With this agreement, the Tour Partner software is expected to become the focal point for the majority of Vail Resort's reservations staff, and enable them to book multiple products in a single, web-enabled interface.
