 "Roha Dyechem commissions 27.5-MW solar project in Jodhpur")
Roha Dyechem, a manufacturer of synthetic and natural colours, commissioned its 27.5 MW solar plant at Bhadla in Jodhpur district, Rajasthan, on October 15, 2015. Built with an investment of about Rs 200 crore, the solar plant is spread across a 74.60 hectare which is situated in solar park specially designed for solar power installation. The company has installed more than 89,000 glistening panels in Rajasthan solar park. It has signed a PPA with Rajasthan Renewable Energy Corporation Limited (RRECL) for 25 years with feed-in-tariff (FiT).
Ramakant Tibrewal, chairman, Roha Dyechem Pvt Ltd, said, “Our investments in solar power is line with Prime Minister’s dream and mission to provide power to all and clean and green energy. Moreover, solar gives you a steady income, steady return as here the main raw material is the sun. With the cost of manufacturing panels falling and consumer demand rising, foreign firms are also turning to India.”
Recently, Japan's SoftBank, US-based SunEdison and China giant Trina Solar have all pledged investments in recent months.
Roha has already taken a giant stride in the hunt for clean energy. It had set up a 25 MW, Rs 350 crore solar power project has already been completed at Charanaka, in Gujarat with highest standards of technology, optimised usage of land and resources, and minimising transmission losses.
With a group turnover exceeds $ 200 million, Roha Group is one of the leading players in the food, paints, fertilisers, cosmetics and pharmaceuticals colours market. As a part of its strategy to venture into infrastructure sector, Roha Group built its first renewable energy project in 2007 by installing a 7.5-MW wind mills in Sangli, Maharashtra. Later, the company completed of a 25-MW solar power plant using thin film technology, located at Patan, Gujarat, which is the only plant to be completed before the deadline of January 28, 2012.
