Construction firm BCD Group said its order book has crossed Rs 1,000 crore in June quarter of this fiscal year, up 30 per cent from the year-ago period. The Bengaluru-based firm said in a statement that it has bagged residential and commercial projects from many real estate developers, including Assetz Group, Salarpuria Sattva, Puravankara and Century Group. The company in the first quarter of FY24 received project construction orders worth Rs 300 crore for civil construction of premium properties.

The BJP on Friday welcomed the Gujarat High Court's decision rejecting Rahul Gandhi's plea to stay his conviction in a defamation case and said it is the Congress leader's "chronic habit" to abuse and defame others.

Capital markets regulator Sebi on Friday said it will auction two properties of Swar Agrotech India Ltd at a reserve price of over Rs 1 crore on August 7 to recover money raised by the firm from the public through illicit schemes.
Inviting bids, the Securities and Exchange Board of India (Sebi) said an auction of the properties will be conducted through online mode between 11 am and 1 pm on August 7.

In a veiled attack on China, External Affairs Minister S Jaishankar has said that, unlike some other countries, India is not "an extractive economy" and it was not pursuing "narrow economic activities" in the resource-rich African continent.
Jaishankar, who arrived here on Thursday after visiting Zanzibar, made these remarks while addressing the Indian community in Dar-es-Salaam city of Tanzania.

The Karnataka High Court has said abusive words used against the Prime Minister was derogatory and irresponsible but it does not constitute sedition, while quashing a case of sedition against a school management.
Justice Hemant Chandangoudar, at the Kalburgi bench of the High Court, quashed the FIR filed by the New Town Police Station, Bidar, against Allauddin, Abdul Khaleq, Mohammed Bilal Inamdar and Mohammed Mehatab, all management persons of Shaheen School in Bidar.

Congress MP Manish Tewari on Friday objected strongly to US Ambassador to India Eric Garcetti's reported remarks on Manipur and said he doubts if the new American envoy is cognisant of the torturous history of US-India ties and New Delhi's sensitivity about interference, perceived or real, in its internal affairs.
Speaking at a press conference in Kolkata on Thursday, Garcetti reportedly said the violence and killings in Manipur are a matter of "human concern" and the US is "ready to assist" India in dealing with the situation "if asked".

The United States and its Western allies clashed with Russia and Iran at the U.N. Security Council on Thursday over Tehran's advancing uranium enrichment and its reported supply of combat drones to Moscow being used to attack Ukraine.
