Mcap of 6 of top valued cos erodes by ₹78,166 cr; Reliance biggest laggard

The combined market valuation of six of the top-10 most valued firms eroded by Rs 78,166.08 crore last week, with Reliance Industries taking the biggest hit, in line with weak trends in equities. Last week, the BSE benchmark dropped 609.51 points or 0.74 per cent and the Nifty declined 166.65 points or 0.66 per cent. While Reliance Industries, TCS, ICICI Bank, State Bank of India, Infosys and Hindustan Unilever were the laggards, HDFC Bank, Bharti Airtel, Bajaj Finance and ITC were the gainers from the top-10 pack. The market valuation of Reliance Industries declined by Rs 40,800.4 crore to Rs 19,30,339.56 crore. Tata Consultancy Services' valuation dropped by Rs 17,710.54 crore to Rs 12,71,395.95 crore. The combined market valuation of seven of the top 10 most valued companies surged by Rs 2,10,254.96 crore last week, with Reliance Industries and Tata Consultancy Services emerging as the biggest gainers. Last week, the BSE Sensex climbed 1,134.48 points or 1.55 per cent, and the NSE Nifty rose 427.8 points or 1.93 per cent. The market capitalisation (mcap) of Reliance Industries surged by Rs 66,985.25 crore to Rs 16,90,328.70 crore. Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) market valuation climbed by Rs 46,094.44 crore to Rs 13,06,599.95 crore. Asia Index unveils BSE 1000, 4 new indices to track growth of emerging cos

Asia Index, a subsidiary of BSE, on Monday unveiled five new indices as part of its broad market family, offering market participants an opportunity to tap into the growth potential of the country's next generation of emerging companies. The indices -- BSE 1000, BSE Next 500, BSE 250 Microcap, BSE Next 250 Microcap and BSE 1000 Multicap Equal Size Weighted (25 per cent) -- are designed to capture the performance of a diverse range of companies, from large cap to micro cap, providing a comprehensive coverage of India's dynamic equity market, Asia Index said in a statement. Six of the top-10 most valued firms together added Rs 86,847.88 crore in market valuation last week, with HDFC Bank and Reliance Industries emerging as the biggest gainers in line with an overall optimistic trend in equities. Market capitalisation of BSE-listed firms hit all time high of Rs 355 trn

The market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies surged to an all-time high of Rs 355 lakh crore on Thursday, with investors becoming richer by Rs 3.83 lakh crore as the benchmark Sensex hit its all-time high level driven by a rally in global equities. Global markets rallied after the US Federal Reserve kept its key interest rate unchanged and signalled that they expect to make three quarter-point cuts to their benchmark interest rate next year. Investors' wealth tumbles Rs 2.67 trn amid sell-off from weak global trends

Stock investors' wealth eroded by more than Rs 2.67 lakh crore in early trade on Friday as the markets witnessed a sell-off amid weak global trends. The market capitalisation of BSE-listed companies, which is also an indicator of the wealth of investors, tumbled more than Rs 2,67,539.54 crore to Rs 2,61,63,222.07 crore due to a largely negative market. Of the 3,206 stocks traded, 1,966 stocks declined and 1,109 advanced while 131 remained unchanged. On Thursday, the market valuation stood at Rs 2,64,30,761.61 crore.
