Food regulator FSSAI on Saturday said it has prohibited Everest Food Products Pvt Ltd and Laljee Godhoo from selling hing powder, which it found to be sub-standard. In a social media post, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) informed that it has issued prohibition orders against Everest Food Products and Laljee Godhoo and Company as their products 'hing powder' were found to be sub-standard. In the case of Everest, FSSAI has prohibited the sale of compounded asafoetida (hing powder) variants with immediate effect. "The samples of Compounded Asafoetida (Hing Powder) were found to be 'Misbranded and Sub-standard' by the Food Analyst of the primary food laboratory," the regulator said. Food regulator FSSAI has ordered PIE FOODS to stop selling its two products -- Monk Fruit Extract Sweetener & Monk Fruit Sweetener Drops -- citing violations of labelling norms. In a social media post on Friday, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) informed that it has issued a prohibition order to PIE FOODS "regarding sale of Monk Fruit Extract Sweetener and Monk Fruit Sweetener Drops". During an inspection, FSSAI observed that a few carton boxes carried the label 'Marketed by PIE FOODS' without a valid Relabeller KoB (Kind of business) endorsement in the FSSAI licence. Food regulator FSSAI has suspended the licence of Dior Pharmaceuticals for multiple violations at its nutraceutical factory. In a social media post on Thursday, FSSAI observed "serious non-compliances" during the inspection of the manufacturing unit in Punjab. "The Nutraceutical Manufacturing Unit was found to be operating under severely deficient Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Hygiene Practices (GHP), and Food Safety Management Systems (FSMS)," the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) said. In a social media post, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) informed that it has suspended the licence of Westend Agro Products " following serious violations observed during inspection at the food business premises".
