Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) has signed a contract with Alstom Transport India Limited to enhance the reliability and performance of its oldest and busiest corridors, the Red Line and Yellow Line. The agreement was signed by DMRC's Director Infrastructure Manuj Singhal and Alstom Transport India Limited's Director Commercial Sachin Deora at Metro Bhawan. DMRC Managing Director Vikas Kumar and senior officials from both organisations were also present at yhe event, an official statement said. The move reflects DMRC's ongoing efforts to ensure high service standards and operational efficiency on its key metro lines -- the Red Line (Line-1) and Yellow Line (Line-2) --, the statement said. The contract, valid for six years with an option to extend it by an additional two years, aims to ensure the availability of onboard spares for the signalling systems and upgrade the existing data logging facilities to better analyse faults, it added. Over 70 employees of Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) won annual Managing Director's awards in recognition of their outstanding contribution in the last one year, officials said. The DMRC on Friday celebrated its 30th foundation day at Bharat Mandapam here. "Priti Kumari, senior station manager, won the award of metro woman of the year', while metro man of the year' award went to Mohammad Abdussueb Ahamad, head traffic controller, the statement said. To ease overcrowding on New Year's eve, exit from Rajiv Chowk metro station will not be allowed from 9 PM onwards, the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) said in a statement.However, entry of passengers will be allowed till the departure of the last train from the Rajiv Chowk Metro station."As advised by the Delhi Police, to ease overcrowding on New Year's Eve (31st December, 2022), exit from Rajiv Chowk Metro station will not be allowed from 9 PM onwards. Commuters on Delhi Metro's Violet Line faced hardship as services were delayed for nearly two hours on Saturday due to some technical issues. However, details regarding the exact cause of the delay are still awaited from the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC). The Violet Line connects Kashmere Gate in Delhi and Ballabgarh in Haryana.
