Govt support for EVs needs a review

The government is reportedly considering the launch of the next phase of Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid &) Electric Vehicles, or FAME-III. According to reports, the scheme is also expected to cover light commercial vehicles, along with research and development in the renewables sector. In principle, faster adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) would not only help contain pollution but also reduce dependence on oil imports.
