Bilcare Research plans capacity expansion in Germany

The expansion of Botzingen site, which delivers mono-films as well as coated and laminated films, will meet the growing demand for pharmaceutical packaging films in Europe

Bilcare Research AG, a part of the Pune-based Bilcare Ltd and a global producer of rigid films & foils, is expanding the capacity at its premises in Botzingen, Germany, to meet the demand of the growing pharmaceutical packaging films market. The expansion follows the recent announcement of the company to acquire a new site in Singapore to enhance its presence in Asia.
 
Bilcare Research has been continuously increasing capacity of barrier films in recent months to meet the demand of European market. These initiatives are part of an overall investment volume of Euro 50 million and will be completed shortly.

“With these initiatives we will not only increase capacity, but will greatly enhance work safety, hygiene and environmental protection. The high quality of our pharmaceutical packaging films is worldwide well established. From Botzingen we deliver mono-films as well as coated and laminated films from one production site and continuously develop the global pharmaceutical films business further,” said Andreas Pfefferle, global business unit head pharma packaging innovations, Bilcare Research.

Bilcare Research, which operates 7 sites worldwide, is a part of the Bilcare Group, a global pharma packaging company with strong focus on research and innovations. The company’s manufacturing and marketing activity is mainly concentrated in the production of rigid PVC films and also includes the finishing of films in the form of coating, stentering and laminating.
