The first 50 vehicles from the Indo-German joint venture Force MAN have hit the Indian roads and the company is in the process of stepping up the number of vehicles doing these trial runs.

Force Motors chairman and managing director Abhay Firodia told reporters that the company expects to collect important feedback from the initial customers to fine tune the products.

"We want to know the customers' feelings about these pre-production vehicles in terms of design, features, efficiency and pricing," Firodia said.

The vehicles that are introduced in the Indian market include 40 ton and 49 ton truck trailors, 25 ton tippers and 25 ton rigid vehicles, Firodia informed.

The 30:70 joint venture "" Force MAN Trucks Pvt Limited"" is expected to be formalised and made operational as an entity in December and the commercial production of its vehicles about that time, he said.

The company will be headquartered at Akurdi, near Force Motors' office.

Force MAN has already bagged an export order from Russia for 500 units and the delivery of the vehicles will start in June 2007, Firodia said.

He said the aggregate exports in the year 2007-08 will be 3,000 vehicles, as the products will go to countries in South Africa, West Asia and Russia.
