Asea Brown Boveri (ABB), which is getting out of power generation companies globally, is planning to pick up strategic stakes in transmission and distribution (T&D) projects in India. The move follows the passage of the Electricity Bill 2001 in Parliament, which is expected to revolutionise the T&D sector.
