Aditya Birla Nuvo's profit jumps 11.57% to Rs 345 cr

The company had reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 309.45 crore in the same quarter a year ago

Diversified firm Aditya Birla Nuvo Ltd today reported a 11.57% rise in consolidated net profit at Rs 345.27 crore for the third quarter ended December 31, 2013.
 
The company had reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 309.45 crore in the same quarter a year ago.
 
Consolidated total income from operations during the October-December quarter, however, fell to Rs 6,544.80 crore from Rs 6,737.21 crore in the corresponding period last year, the company said in a BSE filing.

During the quarter, there was an increase of 9.34% in consolidated revenue from branded apparels and accessories to Rs 1,231.82 crore. It was Rs 1,126.51 in the same quarter last fiscal.
 
Consolidated revenue from textiles grew 22.88% to Rs 331.46 crore.
 
Revenue from telecom service was at Rs 1,669.76 crore, an increase of 18.38%. It was Rs 1,410.41 crore in the same quarter last fiscal.
 
The life insurance business segment contributed Rs 983.38 crore to the revenue, a decline of 13.3%. It was Rs 1,134.29 crore in the same period last fiscal.
 
The firm's consolidated revenue from other financial services increased 35.16% to Rs 494.43 crore from Rs 365.81 crore in the corresponding period.
 
Revenue from IT/ITeS grew by 18.87% at Rs 741.93 crore. It was Rs 624.15 in the same quarter last fiscal.
 
Company shares were trading at Rs 1102.95 per scrip during the afternoon trade, up 0.51% from its last close on the BSE.
