Ansuman Das new full-time CMD of Nalco

The director (commercial) of Navratna PSU, National Aluminium Company Limited (Nalco), Ansuman Das, who was holding additional charge of chairman-cum-managing director of the company, has been appointed as its full-time CMD.

Das was head of the materials department as its executive director for a brief period before taking over as director (commercial) of Nalco in October 2009. He also held the additional charge of director (human resources) for a brief period in 2012 and now holds the additional charge of director (finance).

Das was given the additional charge of CMD in August, 2012. With his taking over as the full-time CMD, Nalco’s various expansion programmes and ongoing projects are slated to get further boost.

Das, a graduated in mechanical engineering from REC, Rourkela (now National Institute of Technology) in 1976, and an MBA from University of Hull, UK, with a British Council Scholarship, has worked in various capacities in Nalco.

He started his career with the Hindustan Aeronautics Limited and joined Nalco in 1982 as senior engineer in Project and Technical services. He subsequently rose to the level of general manager (Marketing) and was instrumental in formation of various marketing policies and strategies both for domestic and overseas sales and launching almost all the value added products of Nalco.

With his three decades long professional association with the aluminium industry, Das is well known both nationally and internationally for his contribution to the industry.
