Andhra Pradesh Paper Mills, a part of the US-based International Paper, today inaugurated cut-size sheeter equipment at its Rajahmundry facility which will raise the conversion capacity to 90,000 tonnes per annum.

William Michael Amick Jr, President International Paper Group Company, India, and Chairman of APPM said the new machine was set up with a cost of Rs 100 crore and the equipment will enable the mill to increase conversion capacity of branded copier paper by 90,000 tonnes per annum.

The sheeting line installed at the facility is designed to convert paper reels into A4, A3 and FS (fullscape) size products. The conversion capacity of new facility is 265 tonnes a day, Amick Jr said in a press conference.

International Paper which has a number of A4 sheeting lines installed in various countries, including the US and Brazil, has for the first time brought this technology in India, he added.

APPM produces writing, printing and copier papers at its two manufacturing units in India with a total paper production capacity of 2.4 lakh tonnes per annum.

International Paper in 2011 completed acquisition of 75 per cent stake in Andhra Pradesh Paper Mills.
