“As we move forward with our transition to be an expertise-led organisation, it will be extremely helpful to have the benefit of Apurva Purohit’s vast experience,” said Subroto Bagchi, chairman, Mindtree. “She is very highly regarded in her industry. She has created and evangelized many successful brands and her appointment comes at the right juncture to help Mindtree reach greater heights.”
Under Purohit’s leadership, Radio City has grown to a national presence across 20 cities and is a leader in many markets. She is a specialist in media business and brands, and was part of launching television brands such as Zoom. Purohit also led the re-launch of Zee TV.
Additionally, Mindtree said that Parthasarathy NS, president-enterprise service lines, has been given an additional role of executive director.
“Partha, a Mindtree co-founder, has worked in the IT Industry for more than 25 years. He is known for his expertise in setting up large offshore development centers handling global delivery and operations,” Mindtree said in a release. “Partha’s vision and passion for delivery excellence has helped Mindtree deliver best-in-class service, with significant value to our clients.”
The Bangalore-based company has been undertaking an organisational overhaul to align itself with the changing business dynamics. The company has narrowed its focus to a few chosen verticals as it hopes to become a specialised partner for clients rather than being a generic service player. As part of this process, Mindtree has hired several experienced professionals from competitors to broaden its leadership bandwidth. Last month, Mindtree had announced the appointment of Ramesh Pillai as its head of high-technology vertical, and Mark Wilsdon as the head of European sales. While Pillai joined Mindtree from HCL Technologies, Wildson was brought from Cognizant.
In October, Mindtree had appointed Paul Gottsegen as its senior vice-president, chief marketing & strategy officer and management council member. Gottsegen joined Mindtree from Infosys, where he was the chief marketing officer.
