Assam Tea industry wants its hospitals be exempted from Bio-medical rule
The Assam tea industry wants its hospitals situated within tea gardens to be exempted from Bio-Medical Rule, 2000, which warrant payment of requisite fees and that too “at a very high rate.”
According to the tea industry, since its hospitals do not generate human anatomical waste or microbiological and biotechnological wastes, these hospitals need not fall under the Bio-Medical Rule.
