Bank of India FY'09 Net up 58 % at Rs 3,087.54 cr

State-run Bank of India(BoI) today reported a 57.54 per cent jump in its consolidated net profit at Rs 3,087.54 crore for the financial year ended March 31, 2009.

The PSU lender had a net profit of Rs 1,959.84 crore in FY'08, BoI said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange(BSE).

Total income rose 34.17 per cent to Rs 19,493.05 crore during FY'09, from Rs 14,528.41 crore in the year-ago period.

Last month, the bank had reported a net profit of Rs 810.37 crore for the fourth quarter ended March 2009, a 7.04 per cent growth over the corresponding period a year ago. It had a net profit of Rs 757.04 crore in Q4 of FY'08.

Total income rose to Rs 5,278.47 crore during the March quarter of FY'09, from Rs 4,154.86 crore in the year-ago period.

Shares of BoI were trading at Rs 338.70, up 4.47 per cent on the BSE.
