Footwear retail chain Bata India today said its net profit increased by 20.32 per cent to Rs 25.40 crore for the fourth quarter ended December 31, over the same period previous fiscal.

Net sales increased to Rs 288.09 crore for the fourth quarter against Rs 255.22 crore for the same period in the corresponding fiscal, Bata India said in a filing to BSE.

For the year ended December 31, the company posted a net profit of Rs 67.22 crore against Rs 60.73 crore for the same period previous fiscal.

The company recommended a final dividend of Rs 3 per share for the year 2009.

Shares of Bata India were trading at Rs 186 on BSE, up 0.32 per cent from its previous close.
