Bharti Tele-Ventures has awarded a $50 million (Rs 225 crore) contract to Siemens to build and manage Airtel networks in Kolkata, MP and West Bengal circles.

The three-year service agreement with Siemens is for the management, maintenance, quality assurance and capacity expansion of Airtel networks in these three circles.

"While the agreement will ensure that Bharti would have wider coverage and significantly improved quality of service, the company would also be able to leverage the economies of scale, thereby resulting in improved cash flows," Manoj Kohli, president, mobility, Bharti said.
