BNP Paribas Wealth Management today said it has appointed Samir Bimal as managing director and chief executive officer (CEO) of its India business. Bimal replaces Sharad Sharma who is taking on new responsibilities within the BNP Paribas Group.
He will lead BNP Paribas Investment Services India, the wealth management entity of BNP Paribas here. Bimal will be responsible for leading the wealth management unit in India and the overseas teams that manage non-resident Indian clients' assets invested here.
He will report to Stephane Honig, head of wealth management for Indian markets, and Jacques Michel, CEO and country head of BNP Paribas Group in India.
Prior to this role, Bimal was the country head of ING Private Banking in India.
