Famed American investor Warren Buffett will meet individuals who have bought insurance policies through his Indian venture, www.berkshireinsurance.com.
Buffett, the chairman and CEO of US conglomerate Berkshire Hathaway, will meet the policy holders in New Delhi on March 25.
Earlier this month, the group had announced its plans to enter India in the non-life insurance sector as a corporate agent of leading player Bajaj Allianz General.
India customers whom buy a policy from www.berkshireinsurance.com would receive an exclusive invite to meet and interact with Buffett on March 25, Berkshire India said in a statement today.
Berkshire India has been incorporated to sell and distribute general insurance products in India. The entity would directly sell insurance to consumers through the portal, www.berkshireinsurance.com, and by way of telemarketing.
According to the statement, Berkshire India has started to distribute motor insurance in the country.
"We are happy that the launch of our operations coincided with our chairman's visit to India and hence decided to give our valued customers an opportunity to meet and interact with Buffett. This special opportunity is available to customers across India," Berkshire India Director Kara Raiguel said.
Berkshireinsurance.com is a majority owned, non-direct subsidiary of Berkshire Hathaway Inc incorporated in India.
A sprawling US conglomerate, Berkshire Hathaway is into various businesses, including property and casualty insurance and reinsurance, finance, manufacturing and retailing.
