Murugappa Group firm Carborundum Universal today reported a 20.2% rise in its consolidated net profit at Rs 52.27 crore for the first quarter ended June 30.
The company had reported a consolidated net profit of Rs 43.47 crore in the April-June quarter last year, a company statement issued here said.
For the year ending March 31, 2011, the consolidated net profits of the company stood at Rs 170.79 crore, it said.
The consolidated total income of the company for the first quarter grew by 32.79% to Rs 478 crore from Rs 359.96 crore reported during the corresponding period last year.
For the year ending March 31, 2011 the consolidated total income of the company was at Rs 1,644.25 crore, it added.
